Fiber to the “x” (FTTx) is the delivery of a communications signal over optical fiber from the Telco’s central office all the way to the home, office, desk or room. It is to replace existing copper cables such as telephone wires and coaxial cable. FTTx is fast growing due to the requirements by providing vastly higher bandwidth to residential and commercial customer in order to deliver a robust video, internet and voice services.

Connects to the homes, business office, campus and even to the desk directly with fiber optic cable, enables enormous improvements in the bandwidth that can be provided to consumers. Therefore, fiber optic networks are said to be “future proof."
